The Palo Alto Unified School District has selected eight parents to serve on an advisory committee that will provide input to help select a site for the District’s 13th elementary school. In addition to the eight parents, the following PAUSD staff members will serve on the committee: Ann Dunkin, Kathleen Meagher, Danaé Reynolds and Sharon Keplinger.
Amy Darling and her husband have been Old Palo Alto residents since 2007. They have two children, a two-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son, who currently attends Palo Alto Young Fives.
Asha Guha has been living in Palo Alto since 2009 and has a child currently enrolled in Gunn High School. She has been serving as a Gunn PiE co-chair since 2011.
Laura Landolfi has been living in the Midtown neighborhood of Palo Alto for over four years. Her three children attend Ohlone Elementary.
David Liu, a resident of the Garland Drive neighborhood since 2010, is a Harvard-educated lawyer and co-founder of Causera.org. He has three children, ages six, three and one, the oldest of whom is a first grader at Walter Hays Elementary.
Xiaoqin (Victoria) Liu has been living in Palo Alto for more than eight years and is an artist. Her son graduated from Addison and is currently an 8th grader at Jordan, and her daughter is a 3rd grader at Palo Verde.
Tony Putulin lives in Midtown with his wife and 15-year old daughter, Sarah. She is currently a sophomore at Paly and attended Hoover Elementary School and JLS Middle School.
Kirstin Sego grew up locally, in Menlo Park, and moved to Palo Alto nearly six years ago to raise her children. She currently has a stepdaughter (14) at Jordan Middle School, a second grader (8) at Ohlone, and a preschooler (5) who will be entering kindergarten next fall.
Chris Taylor, a graduate of PAUSD schools, has two daughters, one currently attending second grade at El Carmelo, and one that will start kindergarten in 2014. He has experience in commercial real estate and appraising.
The District thanks the committee members for volunteering their time to the community. Their work is expected to be completed this April, and the Board of Education will make a final site selection by May, 2013.
