Director of Information Technology Announced

Palo Alto Unified School District is pleased to announce the Board of Education took action at its Tuesday, October 13, 2009 meeting, on the recommendation of Dr. Kevin Skelly, Superintendent, to appoint Ann Dunkin as Director II for Information Technology. Ms. Dunkin is stepping into the vacancy created by the retirement of Marie Scigliano, Ed.D, in June.

Ms. Dunkin comes to PAUSD from Vancouver, WA, where she worked for many years as a technology executive with Hewlett Packard. Her most recent position at HP was that of Senior Program Manager in the printer division. Some of the other management positions she has held at HP during her nineteen-year career include IT Director, IT Operations Director, R&D Project Manager, and Senior Software Quality Manager.

Ms. Dunkin’s program management skills and depth of technical knowledge clearly impressed three different PAUSD interview panels. Each panel viewed her successful track record and wealth of experience at HP as assets for the District. Superintendent Kevin Skelly shared that he was excited to have Ms. Dunkin joining the administrative team and is enthusiastic about the business perspective she will be able to bring to implementation of the District's Technology Plan.

Ms. Dunkin earned her Bachelor of Industrial Engineering and her Masters of Science from Georgia Tech. She is a registered professional engineer in both California and Washington.
